To benefit from the benefits of cardiac coherence, simply breathe, but not just anyhow: a 5-second inhalation followed by a 5-second exhalation corresponds to a frequency of 6 complete breaths per minute..
The heart rate then synchronizes with the breathing rate and the brain interprets this state as emotionally neutral. Consequently, the organism begins to function economically. He gets tired less quickly. Its resistance to diseases and its intellectual performance (memorization, decision-making, creativity) are reinforced. All this can be explained physiologically.

A few minutes of cardiac coherence induce changes at the immune and hormonal levels, drop in cortisol levels (hormone responsible for the deleterious effects of stress), an increase in DHEA (anti-stress hormone) and increased immunoglobulin A (IgA, essential factors of resistance to attacks) which persist in the blood up to six hours after exercise. Should you breathe through your mouth or through your nose?

Inhaling through the nose has several advantages: the air is filtered and heated, then the temperature difference between the ambient air and the indoor environment is perceived. This nasal inspiration is therefore accompanied by a thermal sensation which increases respiratory awareness, one of the goals of the practice.
Exhaling through the mouth also allows you to become aware of the exhalation because if you purse your lips a little, you feel them vibrate. The gentle turbulence of this exhaled air tells us about this expiration. This awareness further strengthens the practice of inspiration/exhalation differentiation.

Should we close
eyes or keep them open?

Regarding the eyes, when we close them, we are deprived of some of the external sensations and visual distractions. It's useful at first, but isn't the point of Cardiac Coherence to live better in a world with all the senses that nature has given us?

Can this exercise be practiced in the evening before going to sleep?

A cardiac coherence session with ZENSPIRE will be very beneficial. It will erase the residual stress of the day. The advantage of the ZENSPIRE is that it allows practice in vibration mode, no need to keep your eyes open.

Can you use ZENSPIRE while driving?

It is strongly recommended not to use ZENSPIRE while driving, as this may cause drowsiness.

Is it a good thing to practice for more than 5 minutes?

5-minute sessions provide the best time/benefit ratio. Beyond this time, you may be overtaken by stray thoughts which could harm the quality of the session. Less than 5 minutes is a possible timing for trained people who get into cardiac coherence quickly. Whatever the length of practice, well-being must be felt from the first minutes.

What is the optimal number of sessions per day?

Three 5-minute sessions per day are enough.
The benefits of ZENSPIRE are felt over the next 4 hours. To cover the whole day, it will be beneficial to practice early in the morning, then in the afternoon and late in the evening.
Stress and tension drop significantly after 15 days of practice, and significantly and sustainably after 2 months.

Is it normal to feel tingling in your nose, mouth, chest and even teeth?

It's entirely possible but not necessarily normal. This simply means that you are hyperventilating. Your brain receives more oxygen than usual. Our usual breathing pattern often puts us in hypoxia. The brain does not receive enough oxygen to function optimally, it adapts. When you give a little more than the usual dose, he reacts. After a short period of adaptation, this should pass. The other phenomena are irradiations on sensitive parts of your body which are also not usually as oxygenated.

Where should I focus my attention?

It is very important to focus your attention on the halo of light and/or the vibration. You will become aware of your breathing, allow the mind not to disperse and reduce the flow of thoughts.

What should I do to optimize the ZENSPIRE experience?

We advise you to find a place that is as quiet as possible, to ventilate the room, and if possible, to undo your shirt collar and loosen your belt. Important: avoid overeating before each session.

Is performing this exercise standing or lying down less interesting than sitting?

Basically, cardiac coherence is practiced while seated. The modes: standing or lying down are possible but will be less effective (especially lying down) because our blood pressure sensors react differently. 

My breathing rhythm is different, I find that the exercise is going too quickly/slowly,
is this normal?

The rhythm of 6 full breaths per minute based on inhaling and exhaling over 5 seconds is not natural. It is there to bring about a return to balance in the autonomic nervous system. Your body is not used to it, after a few days of adaptation you will get there without any problem. It's like jogging, the first outings are difficult but with perseverance everything falls into place. 

From what age can you use ZENSPIRE?

From 3 or 4 years old. ZENSPIRE is very fun and children concentrate much more on the light variations than on a classic application.
